Project Description
The Waterman is a stunning Victorian building, occupying a prominent stretch of Farringdon Road within the Clerkenwell Green Conservation Area. Goddard Consulting were the appointed Principal Designer Advisers for an ambitious office refurbishment project to revive and extend the space for BentallGreenOak.
Designed by Fathom Architects, a new £12 million vertical extension adds two floors to the building, creating 900 sqm of available office space. The existing 6,600 sqm of lettable space also underwent a number of improvements and the basement has been reconfigured for sustainable travel with cycle storage, lockers and showers. At street level, a new reception area has been installed, providing a welcome space to unify the various tenancies within the building,
The development has a strong emphasis on wellbeing, with rear external terraces providing access to fresh air and greenery, and a new 3,000 sqft communal roof garden, offering stunning views of London and an area for relaxation and social interaction.
