The new Soane Stable Yard at the Royal Hospital Chelsea (RHC) has since been shortlisted for the AJ Retrofit & Reuse Awards 2025, in the category ‘Adaptive Reuse into Other’, and in the Heritage Category for the RICS UK Awards 2025.

The yard underwent an extensive renovation—funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund – to create a new café, shop, post office, activity room, Veterans Outreach Centre and interactive exhibition, whilst conserving the historic features of the Grade II Listed site.

Goddard Consulting were the RHC’s Client Advisers and Principal Designer Advisers to Peregrine Bryant Architects for this unique project.
