The Society for Public Architecture, Construction, Engineering and Surveying (SPACES) is a collaborative organisation for those in the building professions working in and for the public sector and is committed to assisting its members in achieving the highest possible standards in the development, design, construction and management of the public sector estate for the mutual benefit of their employers.

The members of SPACES are responsible for delivering public sector construction projects and/or maintaining public sector buildings with a combined annual spend of around £20 billion.

Two of our recent crematorium projects with Haverstock have been shortlisted for the SPACES Awards.

The £10 million transformation of Guildford Crematorium ensured a number of improvements to facilities, including an enlarged waiting room, widened public and vehicular access, expanded Gardens of Remembrance and a new Remembrance Courtyard. The car park also doubled its capacity to accommodate up to 120 cars and the new flexible chapel will accommodate up to 200 mourners.

The new build Lea Fields Crematorium offers a single chapel for 100 people seated and 50 standing. Situated in picturesque parkland near the village of Lea, the main building includes a foyer space, chapel, cremator and ancillary areas.

These nominations are the latest in a long list of commendations received for these projects.
