Project Description

The £14 million Cumberland Place development has a total area of 6,536 sqm, comprised of 206 student beds, together with student recreational facilities, gym and ancillary accommodation.

The Southampton City Centre infill site was previously an office building which was demolished to make way for the development.

The site was extremely restricted in terms of access, and required careful logistical planning and execution.  As a consequence, offsite manufacturing and modern methods of construction were employed, which included the use of bathroom PODs, Bamtec reinforcement and precast concrete elements.
