Project Description

In 2015, Aylesbury District Council Committee approved Haverstock’s plans for a new £6 million crematorium and landscaped gardens. Bierton Crematorium offers a light and open multi-faith chapel with space for 120 seated attendees, and additional standing space and overflow areas. The chapel houses an Allen Portage Organ and a state-of-the-art Wesley Media System, offering the opportunity for live broadcasts, recording and visual tributes.

As part of the landscaping works, generous onsite parking for over 130 vehicles has been created, as well as a spacious covered floral tribute area. Nestled into the wooded hillside, the gardens of the 3.7 Ha grounds offer a tranquil space for families with stunning views over the Aylesbury Vale.

Bierton Crematorium won the RIBA South Award 2021 and received a Buckinghamshire Council Design Award Commendation in 2020. The project is also a Civic Trust Award Regional Finalist 2021 and has been shortlisted in the SPACES Yearbook 2021.
